At Managing Spaces we love to create irresistible workplaces that inspire innovation. We believe people who spend a third of their lives working should do so in an environment where they feel nurtured, loved and appreciated. We understand how important it is to be dynamic at work that’s why we create an atmosphere that motivates and inspires our clients and others working around them.

Managing Spaces is all about changing how people perceive the ‘commercial environment’. It’s not just about business being formal it’s much more. We believe in creating professional spaces where clients and their customers feel that their working quality of life has greatly improved. We have so much fun creating successful nurturing business hubs for our clients that we don’t actually feel we’re working. We are passionate about providing a space where businesses of all sizes and at various growth stages are able to share ideas, collaborate and innovate not only locally but also nationally and globally.

Location

Review existing sites or identify potential new locations for business hub development with their own unique selling point.

Architectural

Provide full architectural design and planning services from initial concept to completion by a registered RIBA Architect.

IT

Design and project manage the IT/Telephony infrastructure so that the business hub is able to cater for any business needs.

Space Utilisation

Review existing accommodation for space utilisation and recommend changes so that it works optimally for our client’s staff and operations.

Business Systems

Review the existing physical, operational, marketing and financial systems and make recommendations for their improvements.

Action Plans

Work with the client to create an action plan that will improve operations, marketing and physical aspects of the business hub.

Mentoring

Mentor and coach the client and their staff to achieve their action plan objectives and business goals.

Operational

Identify the services that the business hub should offer and assist in the setup of their operational aspects.

Budgets & Occupancy

Calculate the building overheads and support them with projected occupancy levels, income and cashflow to determine the hubs financial viability.

Financial

Oversee the setup of financial systems for the hub by working with the client’s accountants and solicitors to ensure a smooth start.

Creativity

Supply full design and creative services to ensure the business hub gets the identity it deserves and the customers it’s targeting.

Overview

Provide an overview management service once the business hub is operational so our clients always have a reliable helping hand.

    The Big Building is an award winning new build children centre. The new building has a reception area, onsite cafe, 43 place nursery, meeting rooms, training kitchen and offices.

    David Hall requested us to assist in the development of his existing building with extention works. The internal layout which stems over 5 floors has been redesigned to include a cafébar, meeting rooms, reception, offices, toilets, kitchenettes, onsite storage and showers. To ensure this is a financially viable option we are calculating the complete building costs supported by projected occupancy levels. If it’s viable, on completion we will be assisting in the operational systems setup.

Ann – Operational

Since attaining an honours degree in Accountancy, Ann has worked for over 10 years in key roles such as finance, capital works and operations for leading public sector organisations such as Derby University and Derby City Council. Ann’s knowledge and experience has successfully developed sites and locations into profitable, thriving business hubs and she now is passionate about offering this to developers and entrepreneurs to the private sector.

Justin – Architectural

A RIBA 1-3 Qualified architect with experience spanning a decade, Justin’s initial experience was gleaned from leading local practices such as Hall Grey Architects and Morrison Design. His impressive achievements since working for himself see projects he has worked on within residential, hotels, office and sports stadia, with values ranging from thousands to millions of pounds.

John – IT and Telephony

From assessment, installation, full support and back up John has been a specialist engineer in a wide range of telecommunication systems, IT and Firewall systems for nearly 15 years. Fully accredited with leading manufacturers such as NEC, Panasonic, Samsung and Siemens plus a NETGear Layer3 Managed Switching Operator John’s experience can ensure one of the most important aspects of your day to day running will work seamlessly.

Vanessa – PR & Marketing Strategy

Vanessa has worked for over 12 years in PR and Marketing and has had the pleasure of creating campaigns for regional, national and international companies in many industry sectors such as automotive, engineering, construction and IT/AV. Vanessa has a proven history of delivering strategies that inspire, raise profiles but above all work to communicate your message effectively.

Chris – Design and Creative

With a degree in New Media from Derby University, the first Business Quest Winner Award and exceptional talent for design and client intuition, Chris’ success over the last 10 years is deserved. His graphic and web work covers prestigious law and finance firms, photographers and manufacturers to name a few, and offers brand identity, interactive and advertising through a powerful combination of ability and originality.

Filomena – Coaching and Mentoring

A respected voice in the East Midlands creative industries sector, Filomena’s achievements include a first class honours degree in Art Therapies and more recently being instrumental in developing the University of Derby’s Banks Mill Studio development. With the understanding and talent for coaching or mentoring people within creative workspace environments, Filomena enables successful business operation through your staff.
